Relationship Intensives
Intensives can get you the breakthroughs you need to build the connected and thriving relationship you want right now.
What are Relationship Intensives?
Relationship intensives are focused, long-form therapy sessions designed to access the heart of your relationship concern and effectively navigate it in a consolidated timeframe. Through this premium service, we can consolidate months of work into a single day.
With a foundation based in RLT training, with tools and insights borrowed from Interpersonal Neurobiology, EFT, PACT, the Gottman method, and STAIR, you will have the opportunity to:
- gain insights into your relational challenges, problematic cycles, and barriers to connection
- learn how to identify and communicate about your emotional sore spots and sexual concerns
- understand and practice elements of relational communication
- get clear on the impact of family of origin and other socio-cultural conditioning
- develop and reinforce your relational values, wants, needs, and intentions
- reverse destructive cycles and create resilience from a place of integrity, intention, and accountability
*For clients that decide uncoupling is the best way forward, your insights and the relational tools and resources provided will help you to do so in the healthiest way possible.
Who benefits from intensives?
Couples seeking therapy aren't generally doing it because everything is great.
The relationship is wounded and you're stuck in a painful cycle. The relationship might be at a breaking point, and you're wanting relief. You need insights, tools, and hope as quickly as possible that standard 50 minute sessions every week or two can't offer.
An intensive, or a series of intensives, could be perfect for you if your relationship is stuck in a painful cycle, you or your partner don't have a schedule that is conducive to weekly appointments, you want the most cost and time-efficient option, and you appreciate deeper, experiential, insight-based work combined with actionable strategies and take home tools. Some couples also enjoy the option of yearly intensives or workshops as part of their relational maintenance.
We accelerate the therapeutic process to set an immediate new relational trajectory of understanding and collaboration, so you may get faster results in what you might be surprised to learn is also a more cost-effective format. How? I'm happy to elaborate.
I've received feedback from clients that one intensive is "like doing 6 months of therapy in a single day." So, let's do some math. Just six months of standard weekly appointments, even at the lowest fee, adds up to $3900, and that's just the numbers. It's hard to quantify the relational pain that can persist between standard sessions.
Second, when I say our structure is focused, that means:
* We are saving time by minimizing the check in and wind down time that is necessary in standard sessions. This is especially beneficial for those that may have more difficulty settling in. Having to wrap up as soon as you warm up every session can really extend the process when you're doing standard work.
* We eliminate the need to play whack-a-mole with any new or distracting concerns that could come up between sessions. Intensive work will proactively set you up with the tools and skills to help you navigate those challenges more independently going forward.
* On a related note, we don't have to spend extra time focusing on coping skills that may have significantly less relevance after the intensive. Don't get me wrong, I love coping skills, but reduced relationship stress means reduced need for coping skills! And, frankly, reduced relationship stress will also make it a whole lot more likely that, should you need them, you'll actually be able to USE the coping strategies that you already know.
An intensive is an opportunity to orient to the landscape of your relationship and build new infrastructure without having to repeatedly clear debris and recover from floods and fires.
How are intensives structured?

What is the cost?
The total fee is $2225, and includes your full intensive day of undivided attention and work, light snacks, take home resources, a personalized reading list, a 90 minute follow up session to debrief and process the impact of the intensive as well as plan for ongoing connection and support.
A 25% ($556.25) deposit is required to confirm your appointment. Requests to cancel or reschedule must be received no fewer than 24 hours prior to the start of your scheduled session in order to receive a refund. The full remainder of the fee will be charged to a card on file the evening prior to your session.
When are standard sessions a better option?
With standard sessions, you still get the deep, exploratory work along with the skills and tools that come with intensives. It’s just on a more extended timeline. We can call this one the scenic route, with life's pitstops along the way. Standard sessions are perfect for people who prefer to address things in smaller doses, want access to regularly scheduled support, or have an easier time scheduling 50 minutes than a whole day.
I also believe in therapy as proactive maintenance work. The scenic route may be perfect for you as a resource to leave no stone unturned and to diffuse as many potential landmines as possible in your personal, professional, and/or relationship life. It's an opportunity for supportive reflection, review, and exploration of content and processing that some individuals and couples enjoy maintaining as a support resource.
