Confidence & Clinical Integrity, Module 6: Ethical Responsibility & Decision Models
Module Purpose
This module integrates traditional, feminist, and decolonial ethical decision-making frameworks into a cohesive, context-responsive model for complex clinical practice.
Ethics Credit Alignment: This module directly addresses ethical reasoning, systemic accountability, justice, power dynamics, and professional responsibility in clinical decision-making.
Learning Objectives
- Critically analyze the strengths and limitations of traditional ethical decision-making models.
- Discuss & Integrate concepts into a Hybrid EDM model with client-centered advocacy, ensuring ethical decisions account for both individual and systemic dimensions.
- Apply a Hybrid EDM model to a complex clinical vignette, demonstrating how to move through each step while maintaining collaboration and cultural humility.
Why This Matters
Ethical dilemmas in sex-positive and relational work rarely fit neatly into linear models. Integrating multiple ethical frameworks allows clinicians to move beyond rule-based compliance toward reflective, justice-informed decisions that honor client autonomy, relational dynamics, and broader sociocultural contexts.
