Course Description
Gender diversity within family systems invites clinicians to navigate complex layers of identity, belonging, and care. This training introduces an affirmative, systemic approach that centers authenticity, resilience, and relational attunement across the lifespan.
Through case discussion, research, and lived experience, participants learn to support both gender-diverse clients and their families with cultural humility, clarity, and compassion—reducing harm and promoting genuine connection.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Establish a foundational understanding of gender variance.
- Dispel pervasive myths about the TGNC experience and the affirmative approach.
- Understand the process of a TGNC experience in the family system.
- Clarify therapist role & best practices according to WPATH standards of care.
